1964年発表のThe Times They Are A-Changingに収録。アメリカが戦ってきた歴史上の戦争をとりあげながら、それぞれの戦争において神様は一体誰の味方だったのかを問い、現在、今後について考えさせる。
歌詞の最後に本当に伝えたい意味が集約されている。管理人が Blowin' In The Windの次に感動したボブ・ディランの詩。

彼が追加したラップの歌詞は内戦が続いた彼の故郷、ソマリアで幼い頃の経験を元にしたと言われる。こちらは後の2018年に公開されたマイケル・ムーア監督によるアメリカの社会問題を暴いたドキュメンタリー映画、「華氏119」のエンド・タイトルに使われ注目された。
