トピカルソング/プロテストソングの天才、Phil Ochsの後期代表曲のひとつ。 すでにプロテストソングを歌わなくなった彼だったが、ベトナム戦争の終結を願って、1968年のアルバム、A Tape from California/カリフォルニアからのテープ に、これまたベトナム戦争をテーマにした White Boots Marching in a Yellow Land/黄色い土地を行進する白いブーツ と共に収録された。　

ベトナム戦争が泥沼化して、アメリカが手を引くことを検討し始めた頃に久々に発表した反戦プロテストソング。　終戦はまだだったが、もう終わるという希望を持たせてくれた歌。エンディングにはI Ain't Marching Anymoreのメロディーが、もう行進しなくていい嬉しさを込めて明るく演奏されている。

2016年8月、 あるコンサートで人気女性歌手、レディー・ガガ/Lady Gaga が歌って、現代の若者達にフィル･オクス/Phil Ochs の名前を知らしめた。米国の大統領がドナルド・トランプ/Dolald Trump になり、フィル･オクス/Phil Ochsの歌が今再び必要になったと、ニューヨークタイムズ紙が報じている。
