当然原語はフランス語だが、今や世界中の多くの言語で歌われている民衆の戦いの歌である。1995年に行われたレ・ミゼラブル10週年の記念イベントでは17カ国の主人公、ジャン・バルジャン役の俳優たちがそれぞれの言語で歌いつないだ。韓国はその17カ国には含まれていないが、パク・クネ大統領弾劾の戦いや、その他、様々な民衆運動の場で歌われている。
2019年6月、香港でも大群衆が一緒に歌った。中国語の歌詞のあと、英語で歌った。日本でもそろそろこの歌が必要なのではないだろうか？韓国語・日本語版
