1989年6月5日に英米他でシングルとして発売されたチャリティープロジェクトソング。収益は世界の熱帯雨林を護るプログラムのために全額寄付された。録音はなるべく多くの英米のスター歌手が参加できるようにロサンゼルス、ニューヨーク、ロンドンの3箇所で行われた。大変豪華な顔合わせとなっている。
歌詞にはブラジルとベネズエラの先住民、ヤノマミ族、中南米の鳥、ワライカワセミ、オナガザルであるゴールデンモンキーが登場する。
1994年に人気歌手たちによる地球保護関連曲を集めたコンピレーション・アルバム、Earthrise/アースライズ に収録され、翌年に日本でも同アルバムが発売されたことにより、日本でも知られることとなった。
